Carson's Creations Embossing Blog Hop!

Welcome to Carson's Creations Embossing Blog Hop! I hope you have learned something new and had fun along the way. What is a blog hop without some blog candy?! The first picture is what I am giving away to one lucky person. You have until Sunday April 8th 2012 to leave a comment on this blog post to be entered. I will choose a winner Monday April 9th.

Two things you must do to be entered:

First leave a comment on this post
Second be a follower of my blog
That's it and you will be entered to win.

For my project I chose to do heat embossing, I stamped the image with versamark and then sprinkled on black embossing powder. Make sure you coat all the image and shake off the excess. Use a heat gun to set it, it almost looks like it is melting, then you are ready to color it in. I used my Stampin Up ink pads and Q tips to color my image, I found this worked better than sponges for making it more detailed. Just rub the Q tip on the ink pad in a circular motion and then rub on the image. I started with the parts I wanted to be the darkest since the ink was heavier at first, then blend out. You can use lighter colors or just use less pressure for highlights and such.

I hope you learned something new or got inspired to try something new today. For the next stop on the hop go here to see Pat ~ http://patsscraps.blogspot.com/

Calendar

Did I mention how much I love my Imagine? Just kidding, I know I say it all the time, but I do love this machine!

To make this calendar, I first printed a 12x12 sheet from the Blossom cartridge. I then went into CCR and made the calendar from Designer's calendar. The days of the week and numbers are from cricut classic font. The days are at .5" I pushed them together some to fit over the column, the numbers at .3" then filled in with black. I then put the printed paper back in the Imagine and did a print only of the calendar. I then cut the croc at 2.5" from crocs rule the tulips at 2" from walk in my garden. I added glossy accents as rain drops on and around the croc and the umbrella, I also added some to the tulips. I drew in the crocs teeth with a white gel pen the ones that cut out were way to small to work with. I got the frame from Hobby Lobby, had to trim about an 1/8" off two sides of the paper to get it to fit the frame. Sorry about the reflection on the glass. Then you can write on this with a dry erase marker. I got the idea for this from Kerry.

SVG Cuts One piece box

Here is another box made from the SVG Cuts one piece boxes file, these little boxes are so easy to make. She even has a inside piece to cover up the edges of the plastic so it is all finished nicely. The paper is from the DCWV baby girl pad, it's been very hard trying to find springy paper, but this works. The plastic over the cutout is from a cricut cartridge shell, so it is nice and sturdy. The ribbon is from American Crafts.

I printed it out and then I sent it to my cameo and cut it out, look at how perfect it cut it out, even the whiskers! He is on pop dots. The card base is from the silhouette store and I just welded them together. The stamp is stampin up, the grass is a punch cut out 2 times and the second layer is on pop dots.

The Liebster Blog Award!

I want to give a big thank you to Cathy who was kind enough to think of my blog for this award! Check out Cathy's lovely blog HERE!
The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are unclear but the word translates from German as "darling" or "beloved". It's given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers in order to generate some traffic for them.

Here are the guidelines for the Liebster Blog Award
1. Acknowledge the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2.Give this award to 5 other bloggers, who must have less than 200 followers, and let them know through a comment on their blog.
3. Post the award on your blog
4. Best of all- bask in the glory, have fun, and share the love!

Now, here is where I get to pass this award on to blogs that I think are awesome! Unfortunately, most of the blogs I follow have more than 200 followers, so I only have 1 blog to pass it onto (such a rule-breaker, I know!) I have decided to pass this award onto....

Sheila! - http://sheloveshoes.blogspot.com/

Please stop by her blog and check out her work, it's amazing!

More One Piece Boxes

Here are some more of the one piece boxes from SVG cuts. I really love these little boxes they fit together so perfectly and are so fast to make. The first one cuts 2 holes in the top for the ribbon to thread through it. I inked all the edges and that was it.

Cake in a Box?

So it is my day over at Creative Critterz Imaginations for the April's Fool post. This was a hard one I mean really, how do you make something from paper for April's Fools day? So my thought was cake in a box, you know off of the snake in a can?! I printed my papers from the yummy cart at full sheets, the tag and 2 cupcakes at 1.5". I then cut the box from sweet tooth boxes at 9" and inked all the edges. I took some craft wire about 20 gauge and wrapped it around my glue bottle to get the coil shape. I then cut a strip of paper and covered it with glue and put it over the last couple of twists of the wire and glued it down in the bottom of the box. I then glued the two cupcakes together on the top of the wire. I then carefully pushed it down into the box and put the lid on and tied with ribbon, (it won't stay on without the ribbon). So when the person opens it out pops the cupcake! When doing the wire make sure you cut it long enough to have enough spring to pop out of the box. I hope you like it!

Cupcake Box

I made this fun little cupcake box from sweet tooth boxes, so simple and quick to do. I cut it at the size listed in the book which is 10.5". I cut it out of double sided American Crafts paper and inked the edges. The ribbon is from Stampin Up and so is the stamp and punch. My 16 year old loves to bake and she made the cupcake with butter-cream frosting and toffee sprinkles they were so yummy!! I did cut the edges of the cupcake holder down so the cupcake would set in the box better, it was sticking up to high.
