Thanksgiving Name Place Cards

It is hard to believe that October is half over!  Yikes, where did it go?  Starting to think about Thanksgiving and Christmas.  For my project today I made some name place cards for the Thanksgiving table.  These were made with the new Paper Doll Indians that will be released this Friday at SVG Cutting Files.  Since I was making so many of these, I did a print and cut.  I absolutely love that you can do this so easily with these files.

I made a rounded rectangle at 2"x4" and did an internal offset.  I filled the large one with a patterned paper and the offset with a cream paper and did another internal offset to make the dashed line.  The largest of the dolls is 4" when put together, I grouped the doll and rectangle together and did another offset, and that was my cut line.  To make the place cards stand, I cut a 4x4 square and folded in half and then glued it to the back of the rectangle.

SVG Cutting Files Monthly Challenge

It is time for a new monthly challenge over at SVG Cutting Files!!  This month the challenge is Gifts Galore, so make anything that is a gift.  The challenge runs from Oct. 15 - Nov. 14 2013.  Make sure to join us!!

For my project, I was thinking of my little ones and how much they love do play games.  So I made a memory game for them.  The box was made from the Haunted House box and I just resized it to be about a 4.25" box (when put together).  For the fun images, I used the Nerdy Halloween shapes and just put them together and did a print and cut.  The box top is is sized at 4" square.

Get the box here   http://svgcuttingfiles.com/catalog.php?item=851

Get the Kawaii Nerdy Halloween here http://svgcuttingfiles.com/catalog.php?item=915

The game pieces are 2" squares, also doing a print and cut.  I glued the top layer to chipboard and then glued a polk a dot paper on the back of the chip board.  The pieces are nice and sturdy.  I will  probably laminate them, but I didn't want the glare for the photos.  There are 6 sets for them to play with.

They fit into the box perfectly!  All the background papers are from a Digital paper pack.

The box is deep enough to hold more if you want to make it a bigger game.  My little ones are young so this will be enough for them.  I also cut side pieces that matched the background of the top piece and glued to the sides.  This paper was printed from a digital paper pack.

Treat Sacks

This is about as quick and easy as you can get for a fun little treat bag.  The sack is 5x7 flat sack, I punched a scallop circle, bat and another smaller circle and then punched it again to get the moon shape.  The bat is punched out of velvet paper so coo!!  so if gives him a great look he is also popped up.  I added a few purple stickles for stars and sealed it up with washi tape.
